With almost 50 years of combined industry and consulting experience, they have built a reputation for creating a shared vision with each of their clients by investing themselves personally and professionally into the success of each project.

  • Ryan M. Ladieu

    Ryan M. Ladieu, PE

    President


    Ryan LaDieu is responsible for securing and managing all facets of environmental and development engineering projects. His strengths reside in public and private brownfield redevelopment, asbestos consulting and management, and development engineering and management. Ryan’s 15 years of professional engineering experience is broad-based and includes: brownfield investigation and remediation, environmental compliance auditing and consulting, underground storage tank management, asbestos consulting and management, civil site development project management, and wastewater treatment design. His experience has been spread across the commercial, industrial, public, and private market sectors providing a well-rounded understanding of sector needs. As a founding partner of True North Consultants, Ryan also oversees True North’s general business operations as well as strategic and business growth initiatives. Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and Master of Environmental Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a licensed professional engineer in the States of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He also maintains professional asbestos licenses in the State of Illinois.

  • Brian S. Mihelich

    Brian S. Mihelich, CHMM

    Senior Vice-President

    As a founding partner of True North Consultants, Brian Mihelich brings over 11 years of professional experience in public and private industry, government and consulting sector work to True North. He manages public and private sector brownfield redevelopment and environmental due-diligence projects locally and nationally. He brings experience and established relationships with state and local regulators to True North and a proven track record of securing state and federal grant funds for clients. Brian also manages civil site development projects and advises on client safety and health issues as part of True North’s comprehensive services. Brian oversees all business development and human resource functions for True North. Prior to forming True North, he worked as an environmental consultant for over seven years focused on understanding every aspect of consulting. Brian spent four years working as an industrial hygienist for both the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and private industry. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Resource Management with minors in chemistry and geology from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay with distinction (Summa Cum Laude) and his Master of Science in Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in environmental chemistry and hazardous materials management from Indiana University’s prestigious School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He currently maintains his certification as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).

  • Michael D. Brennan

    Senior Vice-President

    Michael Brennan offers over 15 years of environmental, health and safety consulting experience. His experience covers a wide range of environmental issues affecting commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. As the former Operations Manager for a regional consulting firm, he served as the project administrator for a major public school system and was responsible for the coordination and management of all environmental issues impacting the district’s facilities including: asbestos abatement; lead mitigation; microbial remediation; UST/AST removal; and hazardous waste disposal. Mike has also served as the Environmental, Health and Safety manager for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company and was responsible for managing the decommissioning of a 500,000 square foot production facility prior to the disposition of the property to an outside investment group. Mike is actively engaged in the various aspects of environmental compliance and management associated with site development and has extensive experience in environmental due-diligence and facility demolition/decommissioning. As a founding partner of True North Consultants, Mike is responsible for the financial aspects of the firm in addition to project oversight and performance. Mike graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from Illinois State University. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University with a concentration in Strategy, Execution and Valuation.
