MADISON, WI:

True North is seeking a detail oriented, organized, personable, and dependable candidate to fill a Project Manager (Geologist, Hydrogeologist, Environmental Geologist, Geological Engineer, Soils Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, Soil Scientist, etc.) position, in our Madison, Wisconsin office, to support company expansion, under the direct supervision of the Madison Office Principal Consultant.  The full-time position will support all company operations with the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performing and Managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments either under the supervision of an Environmental Professional or as an Environmental Professional. Familiarity with Small Business Administration (SBA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standard operating procedures preferred.
  • Performing and Managing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and Site Investigations including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling. Proficient with WDNR standards and protocols required.
  • Coordinate and oversee various field activities including drilling of soil borings, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, and excavation of contaminated soils/material.
  • Perform installation of sub-slab vapor sampling ports, collecting groundwater samples from monitoring wells, collecting soil samples from borings and excavations, and other field tasks.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports in accordance with Company standards including NR 726 Closure Requests, Site Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Options Reports
  • Prepare scope of work cost estimates and proposals with assistance from Madison Office Manager.
  • Assist with employee development/mentoring of less-experienced team members.
  • Provide support to project managers and engineers for environmental assessments (Phase I and Phase II), remediation projects (UST and soil removal) and field sampling programs.
  • Engage in business development and networking activities including active involvement in trade organizations/community organizations beneficial to building the True North brand and developing relationships with Clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: BA/BS in Science Related Discipline
  • Years of Experience: 3-7 Years specific to WDNR regulatory oversight projects.
  • Location: This position would be based out of the Madison, Wisconsin office and requires travel and field work throughout Wisconsin with occasional travel out-of-state.
  • Overnight stays and/or weekend work may be required periodically.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communications skills required.
  • Professional Licenses/Certifications Required: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • Professional Licenses/Certifications Preferred: Wisconsin Asbestos Inspector/Supervisor certification, EIT/PE/PG
  • Proficient understanding of WDNR regulations (specifically NR100, NR500, NR700 series) and ASTM E1527-13 and/or EPA’s All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) Rule.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Medical approval by the Company’s appointed physician, after employment is accepted, prior to the first day of work

NAPERVILLE, IL:

True North is seeking a Part Time Marketing Specialist to provide marketing support across the entire organization.  As the Part Time Marketing Specialist, you should be detail oriented, organized, personable, and dependable in order to support company expansion.  This position will require approximately 20-24 hours per week with the potential to increase to full time.  True North has offices in Naperville, Illinois, Madison, Wisconsin and Reston, Virginia.  This position is located within the Naperville office and may require some travel to our other offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Identifying target markets and growth opportunities.
  • Creating and implementing marketing plans/campaigns.
  •  Managing and improving brand awareness, and implementation of     marketing campaigns.
  • Conducting market research and developing a solid understanding of current customers, services, competitors and target accounts/industries.
  • Responsible for assisting company executives with meeting sales and market profitability objectives.
  • Conduct sales calls and develop relationships within key industry associations.
  • Prepare monthly sales and activity reports, as well as forecasting new business sales and proposal activity.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with Project Managers and consulting with the core management team on strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a company Statement of Qualifications.
  • Creating and managing responses to Requests for Qualifications and Proposals (RFQ’s and RFP’s).
  • Managing the company’s digital and print media.
  • Pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Cultivating relationships with new and existing clients.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications or 3-5 years marketing and/or business development experience within the architecture, engineering, environmental services, or construction industries.

Self-starter with demonstrated ability to clearly and efficiently communicate ideas, concepts, plans, in both oral and written form, strong attention to detail and competent in problem analysis and problem solving, required to work within an established marketing budget, expert usage of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
